This Saturday, June 14th, Yonkers will host its 8th annual Yonkers Pride Festival, taking place on Main Street in Downtown Yonkers, from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM, rain or shine. The theme of this year’s Yonkers Pride Festival is “Unapologetically Us: Love Unstoppable,” which, as stated by the Yonkers Pride Committee, “speaks to the spirit we see every day in Yonkers. Despite a year when over 900 anti-LGBTQIA+ bills have been introduced across the country, our community continues to rise. We continue to create safe spaces to meet friends, to build chosen family, and to find belonging. We continue to gather in love and joy, together and unstoppable.”
The Festival will feature celebrity entertainment, food, live music, merchandise, activities, and a spotlight on local community organizations, all with an emphasis on queer joy. Activities include dunk tanks, a mechanical shark ride, a bubble show, stilt walkers, a cabaret show, photo opportunities, and plenty more, with entertainment from local musicians and drag performers. Headlining this year’s event is RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 Contestant Lana Ja’Rae, with the festivities hosted by Catrina Lovelace. The full events guide can be viewed here.

Pride Weekend kicks off on Friday, June 13th, with the Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at Yonkers City Hall, from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
