The Yonkers Budget & Finance Committee will meet on February 10, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The meeting’s agenda includes recent legal settlements, city budget amendments, and an agreement between the city and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
The city is planning to amend the 2025/2026 Fiscal Year budget to transfer over $1,800,000 towards snow and ice street maintenance and museum special projects. The city has also agreed to sign a new agreement with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), as the previous agreement expired in December 2023. SEIU represents about 2 million workers nationwide in healthcare, the public sector, and property services. Under the new agreement, they will receive over 10% salary increase over 5 years.
In 2025, the City of Yonkers negotiated a similar deal with the Teamsters.
