Westchester voters who want to participate in the June 23, 2026 primary elections must choose or change their party affiliation by February 14, 2026.
New York State requires voters to be enrolled in a political party to vote in that party’s primary. Independent voters and those registered with no party affiliation are not eligible to vote in party primaries.
The February 14 deadline applies to both new party enrollments and changes from one party to another. The Westchester County Board of Elections will be open that day despite it falling on a Saturday.
Voters can download registration forms to change or add a party affiliation through the Westchester County Board of Elections at: https://citizenparticipation.westchestergov.com/register-to-vote
Those enrolled in minor parties should verify whether their party is holding a primary election.
